Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu opposition leaders sought refuge at a United Nations agency office in Lusaka. No, they were not looking to apply for jobs at the agency, they were seeking refuge and their own personal security.  This was possibly prompted by the fact government accusations linking them to an alleged armed militia group and a police shootout following a tightly contested presidential election. A Glimpse into Uganda’s Party Elections: The following photos were taken by our colleague and friend Mujungu Godfrey in Mbale City, Uganda.

  

The NRM primary elections are held in a unique, open-air format. In this process, each candidate designates an agent, Who holds up their poster prominently at the polling station. Interested voters then form a line behind the agent of their preferred candidate which is a very public display of support.
